AS IRS CHAIRMAN

AS CHAIRMAN

 - This is very challenging State assignment.  It is my duty and ambition to transcend the past revenue generated in the State and ensure an efficient tax system. Already we have achieved 150% increase. I created public enlightenment programmes on the television to educate people on how government spend tax revenue and enlighten them on tax matters. This is with the view of creating awareness and the need for voluntary compliance. The restructuring of the State Board of Internal Revenue is an ongoing activity. Within a short period I have with others built a good image for the Board and branding of our products and services is a continuous process. Staff re-orientation has been achieved as staff moved away from the civil service mentality and embrace integrity in service to the State. I intend achieving total autonomy for the Board to ensure that the Agency is transparent and accountable. In every way possible, we project the good image of the State Government.
In line with the Government policy of private participation, a Government Support Programme initiated by the Internal Revenue Service, Ogun State, was launched in June 2006 popularly tagged DSPS - Direct Social Programme Support. This is to enable individuals and companies voluntarily contribute towards the provision of social amenities to the people.
